The Capital Goal
One of my connections visited his fiftieth state. That doesn't mean he has seen everything in the United States. He touched down in every state. I have seen many different parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania.
At this point I have visited thirty-six states. I don't count Mississippi even though I was born there. There is a picture of me as a baby holding a Confederate flag. I'm sure there are groups who would find that OFFENSIVE. It was out of my control and some adult found it funny at the time.
MCI- the airport for Kansas City- is in Missouri. You might have to drive through Kansas to make it to The Power and Light District. I don't count Kansas on my list of states. I visited Huntsville, Alabama. The Space Center is fascinating. There is more to the state than the northern tip.
East to west and north to south- would I visit every state capital? I have yet to visit Maine. Augusta is not necessarily on the list. I have heard good things about Maine although no specific city. I could rent a car, drive through New England and check four states off the list.
I lived in Concord, New Hampshire. My father had us in a trailer. That led my best friend from Kentucky to say "If you lived in a trailer? Might be is no longer a factor. You ARE a redneck." I would need a modern frame of reference and I was not taken to the Capitol Building.
I have enjoyed Providence and Boston. In some states the capital is the most interesting city and first stop. I have yet to visit Vermont and have always been fascinated by Hartford, Ct. If not for the fourteen day quarantine which was lifted three days after my birthday trip I would have gone there.
Have yet to visit Albany. Thought it it would be good if I go to Cooperstown. The Baseball Hall of Fame is high on my list of places to visit. I have driven through Harrisburg and never stayed the night. Trenton and Dover are waiting for me. Might go there on Amtrak.
Annapolis is beautiful and worth seeing again. Richmond is there. I have gone there and there is a new art museum at VCU. I know people in Raleigh and almost visited a few years ago. When the Carolina Hurricanes allow fans? Chances are I can social distance at their arena which should be named for Jim Valvano.
While I have received flight specials to Columbia, SC I have not visited that city. Atlanta is the gateway to Georgia. I have at least one more trip there to see the Braves, Randy Cooper and Robin Bennett.
Hopefully there will be a vaccine by spring. Tallahasee has not been enjoyed. I had fun in Miami although there is more to Florida than that. Montgomery, Jackson and Baton Rouge have yet to be enjoyed.
Nashville is a better city than expected. Even if you don't like country music? It's a vibe and the scene is really good. Have yet to visit Frankfort. Most people think Lousiville is the capital of Kentucky. I would visit that city as well.
There is a race track in Charleston, Wv. I don't bet on the ponies. It's in driving distance. Columbus and Indianapolis have sports teams to enjoy. "India no place" is compact so there should be a lot to see in a short time. Have yet to visit Lansing.
Madison is supposed to be the best state capital. I didn't take the bus from Milwaukee and would definitely visit this city. Most of the best people on LinkedIn live in Wisconsin. I have not visited Springfield, Il. Since the Republican Party needs to go back to its roots? Bring it back to The Land of Lincoln.
St. Paul is on the light rail from Minneapolis. The Capitol Building was under renovation when I visited. I crashed a wedding at St. Paul's Cathedral. Well, I look around and quietly reflect. The couple never knew I was there.
Social distancing in 2016- who knew? Jefferson City has no immediate frame of reference. Des Moines would be a good city to visit. Not now as Iowa is a Covid hot spot. I drove through Little Rock. Arkansas east of Little Rock is mundane. West of the capital it is magnificent. The Ozark mountains could justify a return visit.
Austin is a scene. I could always return. Oklahoma City was not good as I drove through it and ended up on an episode of Cops. A lady was fighting with her man in a 7-Eleven. I need a better visit next time.
The next four states north have not been visited. There is an obvious reason to visit Helena, Mt (I know someone who resides there.) I thought about visiting Cheyenne from Denver since they are ninety miles apart.
Santa Fe was off Interstate 40 although I loved New Mexico as I drove through. Travel gives me a future. I lived in Phoenix and they have a good State Capitol building. Salt Lake City was the first and probably last city I would visit in Utah. Check it off the list. Boise wants to move away from the potato perception as does the whole state of Idaho.
Olympia, Salem and Sacramento have yet to be enjoyed. I have looked into visiting Sacramento. Do I really want to see a Kings game? Don't they play at Crazy Train Arena? It was Arco Arena . Juneau might be the last capital visited. One never knows- I enjoyed Anchorage and twist my arm to inspire a return visit to Honolulu.
This time I should do something instead of falling into island time. Hawaii does not expect tourism to return until 2029. I'm sure there will be a trip by then. I have given myself some ideas. Save the money I am making as an essential employee and one never knows where I shall visit next.
A Confused Mind Always Says No. I will build your brand with clarity and consistency.
