AI's Growing Role in Design
Have you seen all those AI-generated pictures everywhere lately?
It's unreal!
You can’t scroll through Instagram or Twitter without coming across some mind-blowing art created by DALL-E or one of those other AI tools.
It's pretty cool how it works—you just type in what you want, and…..
The AI gives out an image.
Honestly, some of this stuff looks better than what I could draw in a million years!
But here's the million-dollar question:
Are designers all going to be out of a job soon? I don't think so.
Here's how I see AI fitting into the design world:
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
Take a look at this process of creating a design or piece of art—do you think AI can truly understand and feel it better than the human brain?
There are some downsides:
Bottom line?
AI is causing big changes in design. It's exciting to see what's happening. In a few years, we might be working with AI helpers to do design work.
A creative revolution is here?
Since most folks (us founders) want to save time. And most likely have used Canva at some point. I wanted to dive deep into how they’ve added AI features.
So here's the A to Z:
First off, they've got "Magic Grab" feature. It's like playing with Photoshop, but way easier. You can grab stuff in a picture and move it around. And then the background gets filled…
Then there's "Magic Media" - basically a midjourney or DALL-E alternative…
You know how sometimes you see a design and think, "I wish mine looked like that"? Well, now you can just click a button and copy the style.
Need to update a bunch of designs at once? No worries. Canva's got a bulk update thing that'll save you hours (founders, take note).

Plus, they've added a bunch of AI stuff to make your designs look even better.
The bottom line is that Canva is upping its game. It's making pro-level design stuff available to everyone. Pretty neat, huh?
Who knows? You might end up making something awesome!

Remember how Steve Jobs said computers were like bicycles for our brains? Well, now AI's like this crazy e-bike on steroids for our creativity.
