Can't Admit Your Business Model Isn't Working?

What do you do when you realise your business model isn't working?

When I ran my first businesWhat do you do when you realise your business model isn't working?s, I spent 8 years doing the same thing over and over again, hoping for change, telling myself it would all get better soon, that I just had to steer the course. On reflection, after selling the business two years later, I realise nothing would have ever changed.

I like to think I've learned from those mistakes, in fact, I know I have, because less than 3 years into L.T. VA Services, and I know my business model isn't working.

So, rather than carry on running the hamster wheel, hoping desperately to get somewhere new, I've decided to just STOP. The business model does not work and there's no point hoping for the best when it's so obviously flawed.

The business model I am talking about is working with associates. Although we've had the pleasure to work with and still work with some amazing VA associates, sadly, we've had more bad experiences than good, which reflects badly on the brand I have lovingly built.

So, I've decided enough is enough. I'm fortunate enough to work alongside a fabulous partner, Kirsty, and together, we're going to continue LTVA in a different way. She's taking care of our Simply Admin clients, and I'm taking care of our Admin + Tech and Marketing clients.

No more associates. This does make me available for the first time in a long time, which is great, I love working with clients! And when we're both at capacity? Well, it'll be waiting lists when that happens.

Sometimes, you have to know when to go back to basics. So, my message to you is simple, if you're beavering away at a business model that feels broken, ask yourself if carrying on is ever going to change anything. Maybe it's time to be brave, accept any failures as a massive achievement (because without failure, we can't get to success), and make a positive change in a new direction.

See you soon

Love this Lisa. Sometimes it’s just difficult to take the time to stop and reflect. So to take the opportunity to take action and change things up is brilliant. Good luck with your new approach. I know you’ll smash it. ??
