Cannes Yachting Festival 2024

HELM founders, Simon Morgan and Peter Harrison-Hill and charter broker Maddy Hindley took off to Cannes Yachting Festival last week to learn about the latest trends in the industry and check out the newest boats for charter.

Cannes Yachting Festival is Europe's top in-water boat show and the world's no. 1 show for large sailing boats. It is held at Vieux Port & Port Canto and hosts nearly 700 boats, ranging from 5 to 50 metres.

The 2024 show was the first year to launch a new on-water area dedicated to 140 new motor boats ranging from 8m to 30m.

Vieux Port is one of the oldest ports on the C?te d'Azur and a must-see spot in the Cannes landscape.? Every year, the most prestigious boats are presented by the major shipyards including fan favourites like Benetti Yachts, San Lorenzo and Sunreef Yachts.

HELM Charter Broker Maddy Hindley's highlight of the festival was:

The innovative water toys were a real highlight at this year's festival. Particularly the Seabreacher 'Model X' [by Custom Motors], as it really challenges the possibilities of a semi-submersible. The ability to perform acrobatics under, on and above the water is really different to other toys that I've seen.
