Had a great time last week presenting at the Cannes Lions festival
Synopsis:
Every year physicians, insurers and consumers make an untold number of health based decisions – from simple choices on whether the menu selection is sufficiently nutritious, to which therapy might offer the best treatment. Regrettably humans don’t always make the most rational decisions. Social, emotional and contextual factors intervene and cloud our judgment.
There is a lot of hard science in medicine, but what about the science of how people decide and act in real life healthcare settings? An overwhelming body of research from the behavioral sciences has shown how biases and other decision-making errors cause faulty logic. How do these biases play out in healthcare? What can you, as a healthcare marketer, do about it? Thankfully, a lot. Using a few key guiding principles we can reduce the extent of common decision making biases and create campaigns that cut through. This session considers the intricate world where psychology and decision science meets art and explore how creatives can play a significant role in driving better health decisions, behaviors and, ultimately, outcomes.
