Since January 17th, nine new chemicals have entered the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC), due to their hazardous properties; the Candidate List now has 233 entries.
Periodically the Candidate List is updated by ECHA with new entries.
What are the consequences?
Producers and importers of articles containing one of these nine substances now listed in Candidate List, will have to do a notification within six months from January 17th.
Suppliers of articles containing a SVHC >0,1% w/w are obliged to inform their customers and consumers how to use them safely.
A SCIP notification is required if companies produce articles containing SVHC > 0,1% w/w.
