Candidate Lesson 5: Following Up

If you have researched about the job hunting process, you typically find follow up as recommendation. In 21 years and over 6,000 interviews, I would estimated less than 5% of candidates do so effectively. If you take notes at each phase of the company’s interview process and ask great questions, you can crush the follow up process. Customize each message by tailoring it to the conversation you had with that employee. If you meet with members of different departments, they may be seeking a broad range of skills. Again, customize your follow-up.
A great follow-up strategy shows initiative, creativity, work ethic, and sets you apart from the competition.
All things being equal, the candidate who follows-up, will receive the offer.
Win the race. Follow-up!
