Today's Candidate in the Crowd is Shanleigh Roberts
As The #ShuftanJobReport roars with OVER 12,600 subscribers!!!!!!, I am rolling out my second phase to help people. I post the report on M/W/F and want to use T/Th to feature excellent candidates. I built this community as a way of bringing together job searchers and those who are hiring. As an homage to Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd," I titled "Candidates in the Crowd."This is a white space for candidates to discuss their previous work, hopes, and dreams and show off anything to the network.
The Candidate will capture a hiring manager's attention, and good things will happen.
Make sure you are following The Shuftan Job Report for all prior Candidates in the Crowd posts and job postings.
Full transparency from the desk of Shuf:
Shanleigh was my teammate for a few months. I can personally say she is beyond wonderful.
With that said, let's get to the content!!!
If there’s an award for blending professionalism with a pinch of humor, Shanleigh’s career summary deserves the gold. Not only does she boast the kind of qualifications that make hiring managers weep tears of joy, but she also manages to casually drop that she could stand in for Ryan Reynolds - because who doesn’t want a paid social strategist and a backup Deadpool in their corner? passion for asking “Why?” isn’t just about ad performance; it’s about her relentless curiosity to uncover the human behaviors behind the clicks.
She’s like a Sherlock Holmes of social media ads, except her “case files” are campaign dashboards, and her Watson is probably a spreadsheet. That kind of energy, paired with a psychology background, makes her a secret weapon for anyone trying to win the hearts and minds of audiences. She doesn’t just optimize campaigns; she deciphers them. Her experience reads like a greatest-hits album of modern marketing: multimillion-dollar campaigns across every platform you’ve heard of (and probably some you haven’t). Meta? Check. TikTok? Double check. Snapchat and Reddit? Triple threat. She’s the rare blend of strategist, analyst, and relationship-builder, like a Swiss Army knife of paid social. But let’s not overlook the human side of her pitch.
Shanleigh’s emphasis on empathy and connection is refreshing in a field that can often feel dominated by cold data. Whether she’s nurturing client relationships or collaborating with her team, she’s clearly the kind of person who makes everyone around her better—not just professionally but personally too. (Plus, who doesn’t want a teammate who can casually explain ad resonance and critique Ryan Reynolds' comedic timing?)In summary, Shanleigh is ready to bring her “Hotty Toddy” energy to her next adventure, and any team lucky enough to land her is in for a true powerhouse who knows how to mix strategy, heart, and a touch of humor.
Enjoy her entry:

Hi everyone!
My name is Shanleigh and my career has been centered on paid social ads and analytics. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Marketing and Communications (Hotty Toddy!) and am now based in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. I have a strong foundation in paid social ads, analytics, and strategy, but I’m also incredibly confident in my ability to cultivate meaningful relationships that drive results. Analyzing data and performance to draw insights or form connections out of numbers excites me, and I think that stems from my inherent need to understand why. Why did this ad perform so well? Why did it resonate with our audience? Why did this person click? WHY? It excites me. I also studied psychology in college, so maybe that has something to do with it.
What I’ve Done:
I’ve managed end-to-end paid social campaigns across platforms like Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and Reddit for regional and nationally recognized brands.
My experience spans both agency and in-house roles, where I’ve been hands-on in optimizing performance, analyzing data, and driving results. If I had to sum up my experience in a few sentences, it would be:
- Managing campaigns with budgets exceeding $5M monthly, from start to finish, including campaign strategy and optimization, data analysis, and reporting to both internal stakeholders and clients.
- Conducting in-depth analysis to refine strategies, identify trends, and uncover actionable insights that drive both immediate performance gains and long-term growth.
- Constantly analyzing and testing to determine the best next steps and ensure ongoing improvement.
- Demonstrating exceptional communication skills with clients, third-party vendors, and internal teams to align on strategy and deliver exceptional results.
- Managing so many Ryan Reynolds ads that I've memorized his mannerisms and voice to the point that I could probably step-in for him in his next movie. (This is a joke- Thanks Mint Mobile)
What I’m Looking For:
I’m currently seeking opportunities where I can leverage my skills in paid social ads, analytics, or communications. I also believe I would excel in a client services or account management role, given my experience managing various moving parts in high-pressure environments and my ability to nurture clear and empathetic communication. My passion lies in creating connections—whether it’s connecting the dots in data, turning ideas into actionable strategies, or building relationships with clients and peers to drive shared success.
I thrive in collaborative and supportive environments where I can make a meaningful impact through thoughtful strategy, execution, and relationship-building.I’m ready to take on the next chapter of my career, contributing my expertise, creativity, and dedication to a team that values collaboration and growth.
