Candidate Catch up - Hannah & Rudy's ????

Wayyy back in December 2022 (anyone remember that!) We headed through the fading snow and slush to catch up with Hannah at Rudy's Pizza Napoletana Soho. Having helped Hannah Barkhouche secure an Assistant Manager role back in 2021, we wanted to hear what life has been like slinging out the best (imo) pizzas in London.

Tucking into my Parmigiana (current fav on the menu) with my spicy Ndjuja dip, it was great to see Hannah bossing the floor, and the huge space in Soho filling up with hungry diners.

Can you describe how the first full year has gone at Rudy's?

Challenging, but also massively rewarding. Each month has been quite different from the last.

What are you looking forward to in 2023 with Rudy's?

More London sites!

They'll provide opportunity for my own progression but also a chance to expand the Rudy’s community both internally with new teams, and outwards, by introducing our pizzas to even more people.

It’ll be exciting to be part of the next steps of growing the Rudy’s name & pizza party down South!

What’s your favourite item on the menu and why?

A white Portobello - garlic & mushroom is always a winning combo.?I was an anti-white pizza person before Rudy’s but now I’m a convert!

Add sage roasted potato (trust me!) and truffle oil if feeling fancy & indulgent.

What are you most proud of during your time at Rudy's?

I’m proud to have been part of London’s 1st Rudy’s from the beginning, and of the large famiglia (family) we’ve created here!?

Our?fantastic team/s have brought fun & passion to the journey, and it’s been such a pleasure to watch people really blossom throughout their time with us. I'm also so chuffed that many of those who’ve moved on still visit & keep in touch!

And, of course, the famiglia includes our lovely bunch of regulars of which we’re lucky to have an abundance! I've bumped into a few outside of work, each time we’ve stopped for a little chin-wag.

What has been your biggest challenge??

Not having pizza every day… most week’s, will power doesn't win!

What has Rudy's done to support your growth?

They put a lot of faith & trust in me early on, and this encouraged me to push myself further, as well learn to positively reflect on the lessons and new knowledge gained from challenging periods.

I’ve also been on some really valuable courses, covering formal skills and beyond. These’ve included 'Picking Winners' (recruitment), Personal Licensing and Mental Health First Aid.?

Where did you go on holiday this year??

Paris, NY, and Hungary, most recently, to see family.

What is the most fun you’ve had at work recently??

The Mission Mars Christmas Party!?

What are your goals to ring in the new year??

In 2023 I’m aiming to learn to drive, complete WSET L2, and perhaps be ready to take on the role of GM by the year's end.

If, like Hannah, you share a love for pizza, people and opportunity for exciting growth, please get in touch with us to hear more about Rudy's
