The Candidate Brand and Why

We keep hearing the future is your "Personal Brand", while that is what we really only have, so many of us do not consider it.

We all have our own brands, whether we realize it or not.

No matter your age, race, color, or creed and whether or not you are looking for a job or quietly keeping your options open, you need to understand this.

The definition of a brand is a public image, reputation, or identity conceived of as something to be marketed or promoted.

So in your family, in your church, in your community you have a brand...plain and simple.

In our professional lives, our brand can and do change.

If you are employed, and not running your own business, your Personal Brand is really your Candidate Brand.

A candidate brand is what companies, current and future will see and recognize you as and how you can help them.

So how can we start creating a candidate brand? Subscribe!

Over the next few weeks we will go through:

  • Identify your target audience or companies
  • Review your online presence, whether on LinkedIn or other social platforms
  • Evaluate your personal values and how they can affect your brand
  • Review your professional experience or lack of, and how to overcome challenges
  • Evaluate your personal style, and no not the clothes you wear (although it is part of it)
  • Assessing your brand consistency
  • Identify areas for improvement as you go
  • and more!
