Candidate for APCO-Atlantic Chapter President Elect
As I sit in my office, I can hear the pitter patter of rain outside. I am hopeful the rain will stop before part of my team and I hike up to a remote mountaintop radio site tomorrow.
I have declared myself as a candidate for the position of President Elect for the APCO Atlantic Chapter 2018-2019 term. My desire to continue serving the Chapter and the Board rises from no other desire then to further continue my service to APCO.
We continue to maintain one of the largest chapters, earning the Chapter Growth award each year. This says something about our Chapter members. They are active in their industry, and they want to remain involved in their industry.
One of the pillars of my campaign continues to be "what can the chapter do for you?" As I asked myself this question, I jotted down some answers, which became my 10 Points or goals that I would like to take on if given the opportunity to serve as your President Elect, and President. I would ask that you read more about these goals, and my service to the Chapter, and to the industry here on my Facebook page.
I do not want to bore you with what I have done, or what my resume looks like. I would rather excite you with the prospects, and ideas that we as a Chapter, and as a Team can accomplish.
APCO International, and the Atlantic Chapter are only as good as their members, and only as good as their member involvement, mentorship, and leadership development. I continue to believe that if we as a chapter keep our members involved, mentored, and developed we will continue to maintain the great chapter that we have. It is YOU who makes this chapter so great.
I thought long and hard about running, and yes I received encouragement from many who are supporting me in this endeavor.
However, I would be remiss if I did not thank my family, and most importantly my staff at my agency. Without the support of my staff and family I would not be able to do this, and do the chapter the justice it deserves.
I would humbly ask for your support, your vote, and above all your trust at the Chapter business meeting in just about two weeks.
I look forward to working with the chapter members, International Board Members, and the rest of the Chapter Board Members to keep our membership involved in the chapter, expand our chapter member involvement and most of all create opportunity for YOU our members, our brothers and sisters, our family.
I look forward to seeing everyone who can make it, in Mystic.
Respectfully,
Jonathan M. Goldman, RPL, COML
