Data from the statist 2022, based on the most recent annual retrospective analysis, reports an estimated 100,000 kidney transplants worldwide. Cancer is one of the leading cause of death in transplant recipients. Although there are well-designed guidelines for preventing cancer in the general population, they do not necessarily apply to kidney transplant recipients, whose risk is increased due to immunosuppression. American and European transplantation societies have suggested some general recommendations.
