Cuba’s lovely beaches, exuberant culture and gorgeous resorts have long attracted tourists to the country. Families have vacationed across the island, leaving with fond memories of relaxing stays at stunning locales. But behind this beautiful fa?ade hides a hard truth: most Cubans have basic living needs. Although Canadians are among the most frequent visitors to Cuba, and often very generously donate clothing, band aids, medication and other important items to resort staff, many of these crucial resources do not reach those most in need.
This reality concerns me very deeply, as a native of this lovely country. In the coming weeks, I will be moving back to Cuba, reaching out to communities and individuals across the island who are in need of support. I would appreciate any help you are willing to offer. Donations can be made here:
