We have immense opportunities to commercialize the new technologies now available to produce a variety of biofuels, make heat and electricity, and produce high value added biochemicals from waste forest biomass from harvesting (branches, bark, slash, dead trees, stumps) , from natural disturbance in our forests (fires, insects and disease), from right of way and agricultural/industrial expansion on forested lands, from forest products processing, or from demolition activities, or from landscape firesmarting of our forests or stand density mangement to increase forest yields.. And we can also produce renewable natural gas (syngas) or biocrude from waste forest biomass and replace the use of petroleum in our existing refineries. There is sufficent forest biomass available in Canada to meet all of our energy needs and also export renewable fuels to the USA. Sweden presently produces 98% of their heat and electricity from renewable sources. https://advancedbiofuelsusa.info/forest-fuels-management-and-biomass-utilization-bibliography-knowledge-available-for-management-of-north-american-forest-fuels-with-consideration-of-the-potential-uses-of-the-woody-biomass-generated-b

Excellent article James A. Donaldson! And as the fiber resources become more scarce and costly more people will be speaking alternatives. In capital regional district on Southern Vancouver Island they provide following resources. And landfill wood waste is diverted. https://search.app/6LXWLPiKSPjj6QCQ7 Have a great weekend!
