Canadian Immigration is the most sought after immigration program in India, Pakistan, GCC Countries.
As situation in Saudi Arabia, Oman and other GCC Countries is becoming tough for foreign workers, even the highly experienced professional doctors, engineers, accountant etc are considering Canada as their next home.
Given the fact that most such candidates are from India and Pakistan, they face almost similar issues when they land in Canada. In this article, I have attempted to highlight few issues with a focus which is a major cause of concern - "How to Find A Job in Canada?"
Initial phase for any immigrant can be tough. A new country, new environment, language, weather, processes, renting a place to live, funds management, getting kids in school, getting your first credit card, getting driver's licence, buying a car are few to mention.
The toughest part of this whole scenario is getting to learn the norms of finding a job quickly. Competition is fierce. Almost 300,000 immigrants landing in Canada every year, making job market even more competitive every passing day.
Canadian Immigrants from India and Pakistan generally lack in understanding the job market and how to tap into the opportunities. Most do not appreciate the fact that almost 85% job market in Canada is hidden (jobs that are not advertised), and over 70% recruiters search for candidates using online tools such as #LinkedIn.
Most of them in the past never needed a LinkedIn Profile for the purpose of job searching or connecting with network to help them in their Job Search initiative!
In my mentoring new immigrants, I also realized that over 80% do not even consider developing a job search strategy!
LinkedIn Profile Optimization is one of the ways to improve online visibility. It is a process that involves balancing LinkedIn Profile features for a particular candidate with job market requirements. This is done through optimally utilizing LinkedIn features such as background image, industry specific keywords, a compelling about section, and a targeted content posting strategy.
I suggest my clients who are either migrating to Canada soon or have landed already not to delay the process. Optimization, takes time, delaying can cause failure in finding your first job in Canada quickly!
Consider optimizing your LinkedIn Profile to tap into LinkedIn Opportunities!

4 年Very well explained, I am one of the evident and an example of this , I searched online and explored different HIRING managers on LinkedIn in my relevant filed and got Job before I land in Canada.... I might be the luckiest or might be the one you exploited this channel enough to get the right people connected. LinkedIn is one the BEST tool to get what you need but need right approach and right time to make things happen..
