In January, Canadian exports to the U.S. surged 7.5%, setting a record for the second consecutive month, as per Statistics Canada. This spike, driven by shipments of cars, auto parts, and energy, widened Canada’s trade surplus with the U.S. to $14.4 billion from $12.3 billion in December, according to Statistics Canada. The increase reflects continues strong demand and sentiment for Canadian made goods, by the US, reflecting eroding Trump support and the importance of trade to North America.
