CANADIAN COMMMTECH EAST SHOW

CANADIAN COMMMTECH EAST SHOW as always is a great show.. A lot of vendors, many of whom we know and some new products. (No OM5 Waaa) A lot of enthusiasm for the future of Fiber Optics and a lot of questions about getting good training for technicians. Several of my past students expressed concern about the lack of reputable training groups to fill this need and train the new hires.

On behalf of the FOA (Fiber Optic Association) and our more than 70,000 certified installers. I am doing instructor training in various Canadian cities to start more training schools and increase the supply of skilled instructors and Certified Fiber Optic Technicians (CFOTs). We encourage groups doing training to consider doing this under the FOA banner and taking advantage of unlimited free resources at www.thefoa.org. we see a terrific (Many years) of fiber optic work in the North right across Canada and a need for many more training groups. If you have Fiber Optic experience and knowledge consider starting a Fiber Optic school in your community and offering a skill to students that will last a lifetime. We need additional schools in all our provinces including Northern Canada.
