Canadian Auto Sales Hit Record High In 2016, Driven In Part By Luxury Vehicle Sales.

Canadians bought vehicles in record numbers last year, with dramatic gains from consumers who bought  luxury high-end models.

Jaguar had the biggest percentage gain of 134.1 per cent to 3,034 in 2016, while Mercedes-Benz kept the #1 volume spot for the 3rd year in a row with 48,320 units.

According to  Des Rosiers a Canadian Automotive Consulting firm,  "Boomers are retiring in record numbers. The kids are gone, the college costs are gone, the housing costs are paid for and they're treating themselves to vehicles. Nice vehicles."
