Canada’s Latest Express Entry Draw: A Closer Look at Draw #335
On February 5, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the fifth Express Entry draw of the year, designated as draw #335. In this round, 4,000 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Notably, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score was 521, marking it the lowest score for a CEC draw since September 19, 2024. In the prior CEC draw (#333), the minimum CRS requirement was 527, with the same number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued. A tie-breaking rule was set for November 14, 2025, at 02:52:14 UTC.
As of February 5, 234,052 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. The IRCC provides updates on the number of profiles a few days before each invitation round, and the number fluctuates as new profiles are added, others expire, or individuals receive an ITA. So far in 2025, Canada has extended 10,276 invitations through its various Express Entry draws, illustrating a proactive stance in meeting its immigration objectives.
Strategic Importance of CEC Candidates
Canada’s focus on candidates from the Canadian Experience Class is a calculated approach. These individuals are familiar with the local work environment, economic landscape, and social culture, making them well-suited for long-term residency. By attracting these applicants, Canada aims to ensure that new permanent residents can seamlessly integrate and contribute to the nation’s growth.
The IRCC’s strategy in conducting these draws emphasizes its commitment to welcoming skilled workers who have previously acquired work experience in Canada. The Express Entry system is designed as a highly efficient immigration route that facilitates skilled individuals’ transition to permanent residency in Canada.
With ongoing draws like this, Canada reaffirms its dedication to fostering a diverse and skilled population, reinforcing the importance of the CEC in its immigration framework.
