StartupBlink, the Swiss based firm which tracks global startups and startup ecosystems, has ranked Canada as the #3 country and Toronto as #11 worldwide. This is sending quite a positive global message, considering Canada's size and population, when ranked against the much larger economies in USA and UK, in the #1 and #2 spots.
