Canada and ADB Launch New Fund to Support Private Sector Climate Action and Nature-Based Solutions

The Government of Canada and ADB announced a partnership to create a new CAD360 million trust fund (about $255 million).?

The Canadian Climate and Nature Fund for Private Sector in Asia (CANPA) will support private-sector projects in the region focused on climate and nature-based solutions while accelerating gender equity.

The fund will help private sector companies lower their greenhouse emissions, transition from carbon-based operations, and improve their climate resilience.

Emerging East Asia’s Bond Yields Rise Amid Uncertainty Over Disinflation

Bond yields in emerging East Asia increased amid strengthened expectations that interest rates will remain elevated for a longer period, according to a new report by ADB .

Bond outflows from regional markets reached $20 billion in March–April. Slower-than-expected disinflation supported the likelihood of higher-for-longer interest rates and pushed up short-term and long-term bond yields in both advanced economies and regional markets.
