Can you really make Rigid Flex PCB? I mean Volume Production
Many companies claim that they could produce the complicated Rigid Flex PCB products. I believe they could, but as far as I know, many of them can just try the prototypes, as a exploring and technical development attempt, that's good. so usually when they get the Rigid Flex PCB orders, they will have to produce times of the order quantity, as there will be many scraps in the processes, usually the final First Pass Yield less than 50%. When finally delivery the order, and luckily the customer finish and pass the test, placing the volume order, while it's a torture for them. As volume production is totally different from the prototyping, many latent technical problems emerge, which slow down the production and cause extra scraps, after investing a lot of resources, the boards delivered, but the customer is unhappy, because of the delayed and delayed schedule, that's OK, but there're a lot of X-out boards, even 30%! One customer said that his previous Rigid Flex PCB supplier even have to delivery many 3 X-out in a 4-PCS Array. so they get us, no such pain any more.
So many PCB manufacturers just try prototypes and small batch of Rigid Flex PCB orders, and the price is dramatically high, as the extra high cost caused by their immature rigid flex technology.
Now we're going to show you a 6 Layers Rigid Flex PCB job running in our production line, the boards are used in the medical helmet, 5K PCS per order (45 square meters), the following Pic 1 is final board.

Guess you're curious about the First Pass Yield, right? it's 96%, not very good, we're trying to do even better.
