Can You Help Me Spread Some Holiday Cheer?

Imagine for a minute that your family had a 2021 so bad that you wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy. Your spouse got sick and was hospitalized multiple times- surgery, infections, in and out of the hospital… survival was touch and go.

Then imagine a son battling cancer, a son who has a wife and kid.

And another son battling depression, who tried to take his own life a year earlier.

All of this after you moved across the country and changed jobs.

Then imagine all of that falling squarely on your shoulders to hold things together for your family.

And in spite of all that personal adversity, you were so selfless and kind-hearted that your immediate worry was for the 24 kids you teach in your 5th?grade class to make sure they got Christmas presents.

That’s the situation my friend Rhonda found herself in this year.

There are angels on earth and Rhonda is one of them. At a time like this, she has every reason to be focused exclusively on her family. Instead, she is also helping others in her community.

She works in a south Texas school district (Riviera ISD) so poverty stricken that most of the children probably won’t get Christmas presents because the grandmother who is raising them is worried about where the money for their next meal is coming from.

My point?

In past years many of you have generously donated toys and money to the USMC Toys for Tots program which I support.

This year instead of doing that, I feel called to help Rhonda raise $2400. so she can make sure all her students get presents under their Christmas tree.
