Can you get a Virtual Assistant to speak on the phone?
YES…but
First let me address the ‘yes’ and then I will move to the ‘but’.
YES
We have many clients who have Virtual Assistants who speak on the phone from answering calls, to updating clients, to booking a hair appointment for their clients.
These Virtual Assistants have what we call a ‘neutral’ accent so that clients can understand them well.
So YES, Virtual Assistants can speak on the phone.
When you get your Virtual Assistant on the phone, you will need to invest in a VOIP phone system (if you don't already have one). That is a system where it looks like you are calling from an Australian local phone number and you can do it from the computer from anywhere in the world.
The most common systems used by our clients are:
- Jet (Australian company)
- Voip Studio
- Ring Central
- 3CX
- Skype - Using Skype Credits For occasional calls
BUT
The vast majority of business owners getting their first Virtual Assistant would benefit most from a detail oriented doer.
Someone who loves the back of house stuff...
- Updating the CRM
- Posting content on social media
- Sending out LinkedIn connection requests
- Updating blogs on the website
- Sorting out email
- Sending out invoices
- Organising calendars
- Etc…
You don’t want to hire an extraverted people-loving Virtual Assistant who is eager to speak on the phone for a role that is 95% detail and routine.
That is not going to make anyone happy.
SO WHAT THEN?!
Scoping out the role right is SO essential to getting a good outcome for your business.
If you get it wrong, it can be inefficient for your business and frustrating for your VA.
If you decide to get a VA with us, I will personally support you to scope out the role.
I will manage your expectations, keep you on the straight and narrow and determine a scope that will set you and your VA up for success.
If you would like to get this process rolling you can book a time here.
