Can you Eat yourself Smarter?
A recent study by EK Jones and others on how different Macronutrients may enhance different aspects of memory and learning found that problem solving studies (Math, Physics) achieved better results after fat intake, while retention studies (History, Law) fared better on protein rich foods. This study found that people studying on refined carbohydrates initially did well in problem solving, but had a severe performance dip after an hour. Of course, individual responses will vary.
Some Suggested Study Snacks:
Protein: Biltong/ Jerky sticks, Sliced Cold meats, Grilled chicken strips.
Fats: olives, nuts, avocado dip.
Carbs: Blueberries, sliced apple, peach. Cucumber sticks, celery sticks, sliced peppers, mushrooms, strawberries, baby tomatoes, raspberries.
