Can you develop your business with a simple glass of water?

From battling unanticipated pandemics to rising geopolitical tensions and onto rapid climate change, executives face an ever-growing list of issues – and that’s before they even consider the day-to-day requirements of meeting new customer demands and supporting business growth.
Dealing with this broad range of concerns is a significant test. By taking advantage of innovation, executives can embrace these challenges and help their businesses to develop – but only if technologies become part of a wider ecosystem of change and are implemented wisely.
As many as 84% of executives say innovation is extremely or very important to their companies’ growth strategy. Such is the reliance on innovation that worldwide IT spending will?reach $4.5 trillion in 2022, an increase of 5.1% from 2021, according to analyst Gartner.
What’s more, researchers estimate that further innovations across areas such as the metaverse, the blockchain and the circular economy will add trillions of dollars of new value to the global economy by the end of the decade. In our uncertain world, where sustainability matters and scarcity of talents become mainstream, one thing is certain – technology is everywhere, and its influence is only going one way: upwards. It’s why we, at Capgemini, believe that every business is now a Technology Business.
This close interaction between technology and business presents huge opportunities – the organizations that get this entwinement right will improve their operations, delight their customers and create a brighter, sustainable future for all of us.
However, while the positive power of innovation is evident, the route to tech-led success is far from clear. Capgemini research suggests half of business leaders feel their organization is unable to keep up with market changes, with only 17% believing they have a company-wide culture of innovation.
Some businesses remain wedded to the systems, processes and cultures of the past. When they should be using technology to explore new markets and opportunities, and install fluidity and agility, they instead risk being disrupted by faster moving, data-savvy rivals. So, while every business is a Technology Business, some organizations are struggling to use technology to embrace change and achieve growth
