I am trying to dig deep to understand the difference between thought leadership and expertise and this what I have learnt so far. Being an expert means you are able to master certain skill or field which can be achieved via consistent practice the?skill day by day. We agreed that expertise is an important element of thought leadership but it is not enough to call someone a thought leader unless he/she speaks and writes about a specialised area (opportunities, challenges and future). In addition, he should has ability to create the content and lead conversation in a given filed. In other words, he become prominent on social media, known speaker at important related event and contribute in driving changes in that industry.??
Thought leaders are constant learners and remains passionate about knowledge, skills and complex information so it is not surprising that other turn to them for guidance. They share what have been learnt after continuous thinking and articulate of the thought into insightful ideas with continuous courage to show thoughts on stage.?
Thought leadership is not leader fellowship nor thought partnership. Thought leadership is about conveying inspirational thoughts “purpose & direction” clearly, concisely and convincingly to target people.
