Can we unlearn this, please?

Can we unlearn this, please?

I've felt equal parts excited and regretful this week.

Excited because my two oldest kids are back at school again and it is instantly easier to get things I want/need to do, done.? And because they are once again getting their fill of socialising without me having to arrange playdates for them.?

?

Regretful because I'm socially conditioned to immediately feel like I'm an inadequate mum because I look forward to spending time away from my kids.

Quite the juxtaposition of feelings.?

But it got me thinking.? Where else do we feel that kind of spectrum in business - where we really want something, but immediately feel like we shouldn't want it, or even that we don't deserve to have it?

Success.

?How many of us want to succeed, I mean really succeed but immediately feel like we're being a bit greedy or like too much of a tall poppy for wanting to have that kind of success?

?

Societal conditioning sucks like that.

?

Throughout our lives we're being told to aim high, but not stand out too much.

To work hard and succeed, but don't boast or brag about your successes.

To achieve great things, but defer to others rather than taking the praise.

?

Screw that.

You deserve to achieve the kind of success you dream of.

You deserve to claim the accolades handed to you for doing the hard yards.

You deserve to have your wildest dreams come true.

You deserve all of it, without shrinking or minimising any part of your achievements.

?

Now you know that, what kind of support do you need to achieve the impact you want to make??
