Really? More Audio Rooms?
LinkedIn is testing out Clubhouse-style audio rooms. Thanks, but no thanks.
Given the much-publicized decline of Clubhouse and the lack of any substantial to-do about Twitter Spaces, we really only have data to the contrary that people actually like audio rooms. Why, then, does social media keep trying to make them a thing?
Here’s what we learned from Clubhouse:?Due to its exclusive nature there was a prominent hustler and grinder culture on the platform and not much else.

Making contact with valuable professionals—the kind of people that Clubhouse?wanted?to be using the app—was basically impossible as there weren’t many there. It seemed like everyone was trying to sell you on a service or a get-rich-quick scheme.
This is because anybody with something worthwhile to say is already saying it on their own platform—a podcast, a YouTube channel, whatever. As LinkedIn also has a pretty strong “grindset” culture, predictions are good that it’s probably going to be more of the same.
But what if these “spaces” are just meant to be places where users hang out and live chat with their friends? Then Zoom already won. Next!

Tok Watch
TikTok is introducing a new growth hacking feature that will allow TikTok-ers to invite their mutuals from other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and you-know-the-rest to view their most recent TikTok masterpiece.
Convenient? Yes. Possibly annoying? Almost definitely.
As one amusing user in?this Twitter thread from social media consultant Matt Navarra ?is quick to note, “I’m sure Facebook will have a clone of this feature within a month”. We’ll take that bet!
What do you think? Is this an effective tactic to grow your TikTok account and increase the chances of virality or will it go the route of Farmville, where even your closest friends politely ask you to stop sending them invitations??
