Can We Live Working & Playing In Your Dream?... YES!
This is a short story about the life and times of Jose Martucci
My mother, Joan, and my father, Minito, were amazing people, and they were outstanding human beings that held the family together; until it all fell apart!

"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'" – George Bernard Shaw
On September 30, 1973, my family and I arrived in Toronto, Canada, from Venezuela. At that time, Venezuela and Canada were the lands of opportunities, and good jobs wore plentiful for those with a good skill or education, and I had neither of those things. I had many opportunities to do many things with my life, but I knew I needed to first get over my fear. My biggest fear was not being accepted in life, and I had a terrifying fear of being ridiculed for my lack of education. My self-esteem and self-worth were beaten into the ground by the people I love most. I thought I could never accomplish anything because that's what they told me.
Living in dreams of yesterday, we find ourselves still dreaming of impossible future conquests. Charles Lindbergh
Venezuela, in 1972, while visiting my girlfriend, her brother Ramon approached me and asked a question that changed my life. He asked me, Jose, what is it that you are going to become in life? He went on to tell me that his father was a surgeon, his sister was an architect, and he was becoming a doctor. He looked into my eyes with a stone face, and he asked me again, Jose, what are you going to be in life? I looked at him, and I responded, I am going to have and own my advertising agency.
Kobe Bryant On Dreams
"Those times when you get up early, and you work hard, those times when you stay up late, and you work hard, those times when you don't feel like working, you're too tired, you don't want to push yourself, but you do it anyway. That is the dream. That's the dream. It's not the destination; it's the journey. And if you guys can understand that, then what you'll see happen is you won't accomplish your dreams, your dreams won't come true; something greater will." From his jersey retirement speech in 2017
Ramon looked with a smile on his face and said, Jose, if that is what you want, then you need to start making that dream into a reality, "you need to illustrate in your mind what it looks like to you today" "and never look back, only look forward." For the first time in my life, I had someone that cared enough for me to inspire and mentor life. These days that followed, for me, were times of great fun and also times of great dreams!
"I dreamed of things I could never accomplish until that day. I knew then that everything I wanted in life could be made possible! "All I need to do is believe I could make it so." The reason I thought I could never accomplish them was that people around me would say things like... I was crazy to think or dream that my best life could be made into reality. I imagined in my mind's eye a vision of my future life, the friends, the children I would have, and the lifestyle I would live; however, everyone would tell me that I was "LOCO," but that did not stop me from dreaming.
Before I reached 11, I dreamed of surfing the waves in the South Pacific, owning properties in tropical climates surrounded by coconut trees, and living and traveling on the ocean. Most of my family would say you are just dreaming! "You could never accomplish that." Despite their thoughts, I never stopped visualization and dreaming of how I wanted my life to be.
I remember the words of H. Jackson Brown, Jr. When said, Never give up on what you want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.
My dad was a great man and a professional video geographer and photographer; he was very much ahead of his time, solving lighting challenges and working in environments where most professional photographers today would feel uncomfortable, he would feel extremely comfortable.
His creative solutions and innovations were admired around the world. He helped solve a camera housing problem for Jacques Cousteau onboard Calypso for an underwater scene that everyone felt wasn't possible.
My father was incredibly innovative and extremely creative. Minito, my father, used to take me on assignments to many advertising and creative agencies in Venezuela. I used to help him carry his camera equipment. "A light went on in my head" It was then that my life changed again. "I knew it then "... "I wanted to become a graphic designer." "I had no idea how I was going to do this," I thought if these men and women could do it, I could too. From this day forward, I started drawing everything I could dream of. "Little did I know that I was creating my storyboard" I drew it all in detail, everything I wanted in life. I would draw my dream on restaurant napkins, on the tablecloths, on the walls, and the floors in my home; literally, everywhere I went, I would illustrate it on any paper that I could find. I started illustrating my dream, and people would look at me and say, "How can you ever accomplish that if you don't even have an education!" I would look at them with a smile on my face and a strong belief in my heart and respond, "because I WANT it."
Cherish your visions and dreams, as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements. Napoleon Hill
On September 30, 1973, the unimaginable happened. My father decided to leave Venezuela and take us to Canada. I thought my life had ended; everything I had dreamed of had died inside me. The life I wanted and imagined in my mind had ended. For reasons unknown to me, I had faith that things would work out just how I intended them to.
On October 3, 1973, I found myself in a foreign country without any language skills or friends (I had dyslexia). I felt so lonely and afraid, but I never stopped dreaming. I had no idea how to read or write in any language, including Spanish, my native language! I was illiterate.?At first, I did not know what to think, I had lots of fear, insomnia, and a hard time sleeping at night, I was filled with anxiety, but I kept on dreaming. Some days the fear inside me would be more significant than me, overpowering my thoughts, but I never stop dreaming and visualizing my dream. "Life had changed,"!
On October 4, 1973, I had a 4th-grade education, and little did I know that my family already had a plan for me. My mom and dad put me to work the very next day I arrived in Canada while I watched my brothers and sisters go to school. Their excuse was that I could not attend school because I only had an excellent four education.
My father and mother could not find a job. At that time, I was the only one that could financially support the family. My entire income was gone by the time I made it. My family and their friends would continue to say, "I do not know why you dream so much" those words fueled my life, never to stop visualizing my dreams. Dreaming was the only escape I had; visualizing my dream into reality was my drive. All I thought was... It is possible to have what I wanted and dreamed of my life, it did not matter what anyone else said or thought.
Three years later, in September 1976. In a moment of madness, my fears turned into courage, and I looked at my family sitting at the dinner table, and I said, I am leaving today, and I am going to college.
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today." – James Dean.
I'll never forget their faces and the words they told me for as long as I live, "are you crazy, have you lost your mind." Their faces were of disbelief; they said things like you will never amount to anything, and you will not make it in college without an education. You don't even know how to read or write a single word. I looked at them and said, "Watch me do it!" On that day, I picked up my bags and left home, never returning.

I never stopped visualizing my dream; I wanted to own a successful advertising company. At that moment, my fear turned into courage, and I went out to pursue my dream. That same day I showed up at the college, wherein my opinion, miracles happen!
My second mentor on my new path to success was a man by the name of Alan Harvey. Alan was a third-year professor of graphic design and communications.
After a long conversation with him at the college, he offered me the opportunity to attend college; Alan believed enough in me to teach me everything I know today about the tools of the graphic design industry and trade.
My third mentor on my journey was Patricia Price, the director of the Sears travel agency worldwide.
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
– Mark Twain
I met Patricia one morning in October, hitchhiking to the college while attending my first year of college, Pat also believed in me, to teach me how to read and write, she taught me how to articulate words into sentences, Pat showed me the value and the significance of understanding every word and understanding the meaning of the composition of words to create excellent verbal and written communication.
After three years of college, I graduated in the top 5% of the class.
And what I found interesting about my family was their words... "you are so lucky."
My guess is they did not understand what it was to work hard for your dreams.
After I opened my corporation
My mother always used to ask me. Jose do you ever worked for a living? I would always respond, "yes, Joan, I do." And she would say. I don't understand; I see your brother and your sisters working. I only see you "having fun travailing and playing!" "I never see you working." ????????
"If you take responsibility for yourself, you will develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams." – Les Brown
?? I loved my mom and dad very much. In the end, Joan & Minito (Tony/Muts) taught me some incredible "values" ?? they taught me to give thanks to god for all you have, "to appreciate life," to be "respectful," they taught me to "appreciate others," "always say thanks," "admit your faults and say you're sorry" they taught me how to "appreciate myself" and to be "forgiving from the heart." Still, most importantly, they taught me to believe in myself and "how to PLAY" and "DREAM." ????
Now that I'm 60+ and I never want to grow up in life. ????????
The best thing in life is play. Planning out your dream until it becomes your business, and your business becomes your playground.
On a final note:
?? LIVE your LIFE as if it was going to end tomorrow to the plus + ?? and have FUN. That's the ultimate in FUN and FREEDOM IN LIFE. and teach others HOW TO DREAM MORE BY EXAMPLE
?? The nice part for me today is to give back to humanity what I have learned.
?? Wellness On The Sea is truly my playground; it is a place not of work and not of business, ?? it is a place where healing happens, where everyone comes to DREAM and learn and enjoy life for a moment and to have FUN. ???????????????????????????????????? Most important, it is all about your dreams. It is a place where your dreams are made a reality. ??
Oh yes, I saved the best for last. My true family! The ones I love most, the ones I look forward to seeing and spending time with, and the ones I love to play with the most... "my family"! Nick and Christina are my best friends, my buddies; they are my happiness and my joy, and my legacy! ????
