I recently came across a report about river and ocean pollution in India, and it truly exposed a harsh reality.?
Ranked 120th out of 122 countries on the Global Water Quality Index, the situation is alarming. Beyond the stats, this reflects a crisis affecting millions daily.?
Untreated sewage, industrial discharge, and plastic waste are devastating our water bodies, impacting millions of lives and ecosystems.
The report highlighted some shocking figures: nearly 70% of India’s surface water is contaminated, and waterborne diseases remain a leading cause of illness.
While initiatives like the Namami Gange Programme & some private collaborations like Ocean Clean Up show promise, the scale of the problem demands collaborative efforts from businesses, communities, and policymakers.
I? think decisive action on water pollution could solidify India’s position as a responsible and forward-thinking global leader.
As someone connected with water treatment solutions, makes me take notice.
It’s clear that the path to cleaner rivers and oceans lies in sustainable practices, advanced technology, and collective action.
Let’s not wait for statistics to worsen—let’s be part of the solution.??
