The Live and Let Live Global Peace Movement (3LM) was established with two principles contained within the simple phrase, ‘Live and Let Live.’ What’s that mean? We have two rules and only two. Live (Rule #1) – Be a good human. Let Live (Rule #2) - Don’t be an aggressor. Rule #1 offers peace. Rule #2 brings freedom. Peaceful people working together with purpose and in harmony accomplish freedom. We must begin and/or continue to learn how to work together better to achieve these goals.
The 3LM-inspired activity brings people and organizations with skill sets and projects to address the specific needs of this transitional phase to increase the quality of life for all without diminishing existing conditions and quality for any. Specific needs span the gamut of governments and society in general across myriad systems that serve humanity. Simultaneously addressed is the reduction and elimination of systems that do not serve humanity’s future thrivability as a free society living in peace.
Rule #1 – Be a Good Human. The Live and Let Live Moral Principle seeks to inspire people to be good humans. Considering the Legal Principle, being a good human means that no one has the right to force others to abide by their moral code. As long as there is no aggression toward others, people are free to behave, live and love as they so choose. In that freedom we can learn to work together peacefully toward stewardship.
Change happens through small groups of people who have built trust relationships and learned how to work together to affect change in themselves, their communities, regions, states and even countries. This activity is far more infectious than any media narrative. Grassroots efforts rallied around a simple principle, with achievable goals and objectives, have historically demonstrated success in changing nations for the better. We have a global society now, interconnected and interrelated as a global family - one planet, one people.

Being a good human as a group activity gives you and others the opportunity to engage aspirations that example good behavior toward people and planet. We grow and learn from each other. Our activities include chapter meetings with a world café style that work on-ground and virtually, discussion groups on Zoom facilitated by chapter leaders from around the world regarding the Live and Let Live message and principles, as well as conferences that bring diverse leaders together to collaborate and share their work, too.
Rule #2 – Don’t Be an Aggressor. The Live and Let Live Legal Principle applies to all people equally, even if they form groups, organizations, corporations, or governments. We should never legally tolerate aggression, regardless of the source. To outlaw aggression means to outlaw all initiations of force, all fraud, all coercion, and anything that creates a substantial risk or threat of harm to another person or their property.
To cover the gamut of eliminating aggression we must calibrate the law; assessing and adjusting when prudent. From corporations to governments to individuals, this takes an understanding most of us don’t have, yet. Dealing with the law and legislation strikes fear in the hearts of most people, simply because they feel powerless in addressing it. Resistance is futile. Together, we can meet the challenge of adjusting laws and legislation in concert over time. A free society requires an evo-leap in our behavior toward one another. We cannot just talk about peace anymore.
As peaceful people, we seek to change that resistance to involvement in the critical affairs that matter with our activities toward understanding what non-aggression means and sharing about the how the law works, offering classes and workshops on various topics of law, and providing low-cost access to attorneys, barristers, lawyers and legal counsel, with a Live and Let Live Law Firm gaining traction globally already. What might universal law applied look like in the evolution of our planetary civilization?

2 年Terrific, succinct article Zen ??- ?? thank you for sharing it, and for drawing it to my attention. For quite some time now, I've been awaiting an opportunity to share a difference of view. I never have, and still don't, see the "Live" part as applying to the legal/aggression aspect, and the "Let Live" applying to the moral; rather, my own perspective is that both legs of the phrase "(1) Live and (2) Let Live", apply equally and entirely to, and in, both spheres: (1) the legal, and (2) the moral. This might seem merely semantic on the superficial face of it, but I do believe it is actually fundamental. I've been awaiting an appropriate opportunity to share this viewpoint with you Zen ??, and well, this seemed like it might be that, and I look forward to speaking with you about it (+ *so* much else!) soon! ??

2 年Why somebody want to live but not let others live is a question that I have no explanation for? What are the motives behind this behavior? Is it genetic factor, environmental factor or both? What creates such a desire? I have many questions Zen ?? Benefiel and I find no explanation for them. Ned McDonnell III, CFA PMP Glenn Melcher- this thread shall interest you
