Can Donald Trump's Tariff Threat Keep the U.S. in its Seat at The Head of The Table of Power?
Dov Baron... The Science of Emotion

I want to let you in on a secret. You likely don't know something about me that only my close, intimate friends and private clients know.
For a very long time, I have been deeply immersed in the psychology of politics and the trends that developed from it; I advise those in positions of power on these subjects.
President Donald Trump on Thursday warned off BRICS member countries from replacing the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency by repeating a 100%-tariffs threat he had made weeks after winning the November presidential elections.
"We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs," Trump said
Back in 2022, during a private consultation, my client, a highly respected leader in the cross-over space between leadership and politics, asked me to give my insights on the situation in Iran regarding Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman killed for not wearing a scarf, and the ongoing public protest against the treatment of women in Iran.?
Worldwide, people came out in the hundreds of thousands to demonstrate and support these young Iranian women. From Vancouver, London, New York, LA, Paris, and every other major city to chant: "Zan, Zindagi, Azadi" (women, life, freedom).?
In light of my research and knowledge of politics, my client asked why I believe Iranian women and women's rights are suddenly so vigorously being defended.
How we got here:
Since the Revolution ousted the Shah in 1979, the Iranian regime has repressed women. Mahsa Amini was far from the first to have died at the hands of the regime for such a crime of showing her hair.
Many young people have been imprisoned and killed by the "Ayatollah's "regime?for similar cultural infractions.
You may be asking, why now? Why did this case steal the headlines and create such rousing support from the West?
Let's go back to February 2022 and the seemingly unrelated but interconnecting dots.
Russia is?the world's largest exporter of oil to global markets?and the second-largest crude oil exporter behind Saudi Arabia. Russia announced in February 2023 that it would cut oil production by 500,000 barrels per day next month after Western countries capped the price of its crude over its action in Ukraine.
While the sanctions are intended to curtail the cash flow of Russian energy, their actual impact remains to be seen. Russian exports not just to Europe but to the rest of the world, including the United States; in 2021, imports from Russia accounted for?8%?of all U.S. petroleum imports.
The conversation about why the war is going on between Russia and Ukraine is an entirely different subject, (See The Putin Report) but what is relevant in the context of that war and the connection to Iran is this. The west needs a new friend in the Middle East. Oil is money and power.?
The Iranian people, who are generally unhappy with the Ayatollah's regime, suddenly feel empowered to push back against the ruling government. They feel like the West is suddenly on their side, and they may feel empowered to take down the ruling regime while gathering support from the West, more specifically from the United States.
The statement above may seem far-fetched or even conspiratorial. However, and this may ruffle the feathers of those who have been sold a particular narrative, it's a historical fact that a CIA-backed manipulation overthrew the Iranian government that installed the Shah.
However, when the Shah of Iran stopped acting in the manner that the CIA and U.S. government wanted, they uninstalled him from power by once again financing a revolution that set up the current regime in his place.?
The US-Iran-Russia-China Debocal??
March 2023, and a story that is arguably one of the biggest stories of the time barely made the news in Western mainstream media. When viewed through the lens of history, it may be seen as the beginning of the end for the axis of global power as we know it.?
Two sworn enemies, Saudi Arabia and Iran, have signed a peace accord.
Despite the magnitude of this news, what is even more significant is that neither the United States nor the United Nations was involved in negotiating this peace agreement. Instead, it was brokered by China!?
Did you get that? Two warring factions in the Middle East, the Sunnis and Shiites, who are sworn enemies, have found peace through China's diplomatic mediation.

You may think this is great—peace in the Middle East—and on the surface, that's true, but the implications are vast. This peace agreement has massive consequences for the United States as a global power.
A Potential Tectonic Shift in Power.
What does the West's support of Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old woman killed for not wearing a scarf, the war in Ukraine, and the peace accord in the Middle East mean to the United States of America??
Let's pull this "Murder Board" of Power together.
Global investments have typically been made in U.S. dollars, and oil exporters prefer the U.S. dollar as their currency. Therefore, it has been the most convenient means of storing oil revenue, which must earn a return to be useful.
China's facilitation of a new peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran has opened Pandora's box.
Currently, Saudi Arabia and China are discussing using the Yuan (China's currency) as the global currency for oil.
The BRICs Nation Alliance, which is Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and other NATO coutries like Turkey have been invited in, is growing in power, influence and ecconomic threat to the US dollar.
As Saudi Arabia and Iran join BRICs, the U.S. will become insignificant among the world's major oil-producing countries.?
This potential shift in preeminent global currency means that even though the U.S. has supported the Iranian uprising based on human rights, a far more significant agenda is at play.
In this highly disrupted and fast-changing world, the peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran may mean the United States may not only lose a seat at the head of the table of global power but may even lose having a seat!

2 年Losing a seat altogether? The U.S. has the largest shale deposits on the planet (conservative estimate of 2.17 trillion barrels) and is never more than one election away from fully leveraging it. We also have the naval force projection capability to shut down the straight of Hormuz if push came to shove, sending the entire BRICS assembly into ruin overnight. I think will and ability are often conflated.
