Can Uncontrolled Electric Motors Do Yoga?

Can Uncontrolled Electric Motors Do Yoga?

#Confessions of a Motor Gal

For people, there is article after article of wellness, mindfulness, and the like encouraging people to find balance and be careful of how they treat their bodies and their lives. Is this ever a consideration for electric motors in factories and commercial. buildings to do the same? To heal and balance buildings we work in as well? This isn't an article about Feng Sui but you are going to need a lot more than sage and palo santo to heal your commercial/industrial/municipal energy problems.

You are correct, motors cannot do yoga or meditate but they can become balanced with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). VFDs can help settle an unbalanced and untamed motors in good condition. The technology can be combined with energy focus efforts with new motor sales and even implement as retrofit on an existing machines. This can mean massive amounts of savings on your power bill. (Which may also help calm your own Chi especially if you are spending over a million dollars in power.)

In commercial/industrial buildings electric motors are often one of the number one most missed items for savings opportunities. These unbalanced loads are especially evident in factories where OSHA hearing devices are required and are great indicators of unbalanced motor loads as the motors scream from the excess energy and heat. We found even after the retrofit in hundreds of factories the people in the factories behave much calmer without that "noise."

Perhaps it is habit after some time of working in one of these facilities it is like the ole factory in the sense of smell where you smell it for so long you literally no longer smell it. However any uncontrolled motor is definitely hurting the company bottom line in wasted energy costs.

So have an energy review/audit or take a training to become a motor hunter look specifically for uncontrolled motor loads and other opportunities to heal the energy problem. Beyond that, thinking about it isn't going to help you have to actually implement energy saving controls and devices to reduce wasted energy and your carbon footprint.

Considering most Americans spend most of their time at work. Why not look at energy savings as form of energy healing and fix and balance where you spend the most time.
