Can a therapist refer to Psilocybin Services?

The Psilocybin Assisted Therapy Association (PATA), www.pata-us.org, reached out to Oregon's Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and asked them two questions:
The answer was vague and informative.
The Board could not make an official statement as there is not any relevant information to which to refer. They have no official stance and they will not offer advice or analyze the law for individual situations.
This also means there is not anything currently stating licensed therapists should not refer to a Service Center or discuss OPS.
PATA is in the process of getting legal guidance around these issues. We'll keep you updated!

1 年Since OPS might be under the scrutiny of the Feds for any missteps, until the FDA approves and the DEA reschedules, I suspect that OPS will tend to leave policy open and intentionally unclear. A reasonable metaphor may be the "turf war" thats happening in D.C. between City govt and the Feds, where voters approved decrim measures but the Feds can still prosecute. Officials in D.C and Oregon want to resist Federal encroachment but must do so under a veil of "don't ask, don't tell." They stand behind the original principles of 109, but must do so very cautiously.
