Can a Single Person Create a Successful Mobile App?

This is one of the most trending questions on quora in mobile app development category and there’s a justified reason behind this.

Mobile app industry is growing at a fast pace. The revenue has just reached $100 billion mark in 2017 ($99 Billion to be exact) and if app development experts are to be believed, the figure will reach $189 billion in 2020.

After seeing these figures, millions of people have started showing interest in creating mobile apps.

However, not all of them can afford to hire an app development team. Given this, they are looking for ways to create mobile apps on their own and that’s why the question is trending.

Now, before we proceed further, there is yet another question we would like to mention:

Can a person create an app on his own?

The answer is Yes. Minecraft and Flappy Bird are prime examples. Both were created by individuals who are highly successful. In-fact, it’s not only them. There are millions of app developers out there who regularly create and publish apps on Google Play and the Apple app store.

Although, are all of them successful?

They’re not. Only 5-7% of total apps launched every year, meet with expected response. Rest just vanish into anonymity.

Do you what this means?

Creating an app is easy. However, marketing your app and ensuring that it reaches the right audience requires lot of efforts.

Even after that, there is no guarantee of success.

Most of you might not know the story behind popular game Angry Bird. Rovio faced 51 failures before they were able to create it.

51 attempts! Can you believe that?

If there was any individual in place of Rovio, he/she might’ve given up after 3-4 attempts and might’ve pursued something else. After all, who will invest time and energy in something that’s not working.

Still, Rovio continued to work on it and the result was the game that broke all existing records.

That’s why people prefer hiring app developers over solo app development. This benefits them in the following ways:

  • Companies have access to resources. From idea conceptualization, designing, and development to testing and app marketing – everything is handled on company’s end. User doesn’t have to worry about anything.
  • Companies can easily figure out on how to execute an idea properly. Also, they can work on things and make amendments accordingly if the app idea doesn’t work for the first time. Hence, hiring a company for app development proves to be the safest bet.
  • People trust those apps more who bear the label of an established app development company

In a Nutshell

Here’s what the experts in our app development experts in Singapore have to say:

“It’s possible for one person to create an app. However, there is no guarantee whether or not that app will be successful.

The competition is tough and people are ready to go to any extent to make their apps successful.

Amidst all this, hiring a team of app development experts will give you a cutting edge over others and pave way for your app’s success."

What do you think?

Very nice article, it goes with What I was thinking, creating an app by yourself can be done, that will be a full time job tho and require a minimum of knowledge (programer wise) to do it. Good work Sylvain Richard Owner of Sylvainrichard.blogspot.com
