Can sex addicts protect themselves online?

In today’s world you’d be hard-pressed to find a sex addict whose compulsive behaviors are not facilitated by digital devices. The good news is that sex addicts can now fight techno-temptations with techno-solutions, most notably the installation of protective software on their digital devices. However, these products should not be viewed as enforcers of sexual sobriety. Instead, they should be seen as a tool of recovery that can help a motivated individual maintain his or her integrity and sexual sobriety. Waiting for more MFT intern jobs in this field! It's not just adults with porn. THe same compulsive behaviors go for children and internet use/game use now. I wonder how many children who grew up with phones and computers, (vs my generation who obtained phones only around age 17 with our first car,) are going to have this new "internet age" to rely completely on for recreation. I see little children already screaming when a phone is taken away- (usually a game if aged younger than puberty,) but still, it is unsettling. Like all toys, time with electronics can be limited and replaced with any other play. I'd opt for social engagement, myself! I'm hoping to start a eco-recreational therapy practice someday, where families can all detach from their electronics to connect via recreational activities outdoors, or even just walking a trail though a state park. I realize connecting clients with nature may be my bias - as I use the outdoors as a spiritual guide. But, there's usually no porn out there... one can hope... ;)
