Can reading books make a change or direct you in a better way? (Part-2)

Welcome to the part 2 of the article. I briefly explained how I started reading this book in the last article. I also tried to establish and discuss the relation between 4D (Dream, Desire, Dedicate, Deliver) and 2C2R (Cue, Crave, Response, Reward), where I explained 2D, Which is dream and desire. In this part, I will try to explain other D’s, which are Dedicate and Deliver.

??????????? After you dream of something, you desire to get it, but this is not the complete cycle to get something—more than the desire is required to get something, that is, working on it. You have to work hard to get that (whatever you desire). You have to dedicate yourself. You have to give your best whatever you are doing, and you will not regret irrespective of the result.

??????????? One story from my experience that I want to share here. Like three idiots, we are a group of 3 friends(Ankush, Avinash and I). We were unaware of our future and what we wanted to do in college, but Avinash knew what he would do next. I left college just after a year and joined a different course. Avinash and Ankush continue that program. After completing that program, Avinash knew his abilities without giving it any second thought, so he started preparing for CAT. He prepared a whole year for CAT, and the following year, he got an admission offer from IIMA (One of the best B-Schools around the globe). So he dreamed of and desired something, gave all his dedication and achieved what he wanted.

??????????? I was unaware of my future goal. I just finished my graduation and started one of my ventures, but his story inspired me a lot. Then, I tried to explore my interests, fixed my goal and started working on it. It took me a year to get into the IIMB.

??????????? All this taught me that if you don’t know your goal, try to find one among your friends group, family or movie (explore your interest)—anything that inspires you—first dream for something and desire to achieve that. After giving dedication with hard work, you will surely accomplish that.

??????????? The one thing that is different between 4D and 2C2R is the reward. I was more toward giving 100% toward the process, but I need to be aware that making the process enjoyable will boost your goal. While reading the book, I realised how essential reward is to make success a habit and enjoy your process. This is where our mind always indicates that we always try to do things whenever we get something as a reward. Why does a person who achieved 1st rank always maintain that (hypothetically) because he knows the reward he is getting. Even in childhood, our parents always try to offer something if we score good marks. This reward always tries to attract us, but as soon as the value of the reward goes low, we try to avoid doing those things.

??????????? So, the reward is one of the important factors for motivating you to work toward your goal and make you accomplish it.

We will discuss other theories given in the book in the following article. ?Thank you for going through this article.
