Can Prayers Heal?

I have been reading about Noetic Science for some time now. It is basically science which tries to find deeper understanding of consciousness, with scientific methods. It believes that reality is far different than what we see with our conventionally conditioned mind, and human kind deserves an attempt to understand the reality, which today can only be explained as miracle, OR spiritual OR mythical.

One such aspect of our being that intrigues me is Power of Prayer. Almost all religions, cults OR any other human belief systems have stressed on the importance of prayers, for nourishing one’s soul. People say faith makes it work. But for ages it is viewed as an unexplained miracle when Prayers work OR we think they worked.

But as my logical mind argues, if prayers can heal then curses can hurt. So now the questions is “Can human thought really have the power to change physical reality of oneself’s OR someone else’s life?” Healers/ Philosophers have conducted many disparate experiments to establish scientific evidence in or out of favor for this one theory. But as we can see, this is extremely subjective, and any favoring results can be counter argued by reasons like chance.

One such experiment that caught my attention is dual slit experiment. Many detailed articles are available about the same, but at its core it introduces human thought into an otherwise fully scientific experiment, to see if it can enforce photon to manifest itself as particle instead of wave. And it seems it can!! Then there are others, trying to focus on stopping the growth of fungus OR even trying to kill cancer cells. As incredulous as they look, these are small controlled experiments conducted by qualified physicians, scientists who are trying to figure out bridge between physical and non-physical world, by trying to device their own experiments and own hypothesis.

There is no coalition of such experiments, nor anyone has run any deep analytics on all these disparate experiments to find insights, to give us an evidence that may be there is irrefutable scientific evidence after all. I hope, the new cloud and cognitive analytics era will bring this seemingly impossible task within our grasp. With the help of these technologies, we will unearth insights that were not known to us ( Or are long forgotten). Once we start understanding the thought, we will understand the nuisances of the thought, how to put it to use (with side effects like all medicine) and eventually we will be looking at simple prayers, meditations as mainstream healing techniques, but in ways that are more effective , more predictable and reliable than ever before!!

That’s a great article...we all have personally experienced many instances where someone’s good words and prayers have worked for us...every thought does generates a wave of energy and it can harmful too if you are weak on your mental strength, like your immune system - you are more prone to diseases if you have a weak immune system !!
