We have all come across a Narcissistic self centred prick in our lives; whether it's a former partner, boss, work colleague a friend to an acquaintance.
Hate it or love it, social media makes this a gateway opening for a narcissist to showcase their statues in order to gather their supply to feed their delusional beliefs that they are more important than anyone else.
I won't lie to you, over the years I have clashed with narcissist after narcissist, from my brothers, my father, friends to my ex, but I know I am not alone on this one.
If you were to Google the word Narcissist, there are endless links for one to view and many of them don't have positive things to say about them.
I actually pity them in the most empathetic way I possible can based on this; Before I wasn't as clued up as I am now. To break it down in general, the word narcissism gets tossed around a lot in our selfie-obsessed, celebrity-driven culture, often to describe someone who seems excessively vain or full of themselves.
But in psychological terms, narcissism doesn’t mean self-love—at least not of a genuine sort. It’s more accurate to say that people with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) are in love with an idealised, grandiose image of themselves. And they’re in love with this inflated self-image precisely because it allows them to avoid deep feelings of insecurity of themselves.
The fact that a narcissists thrive's on other peoples validation and approval of their actions, right down to believing they can be critical of others and needing to always be right speaks high volumes.
You just got to question their actions there in high and site to understand this; who are they proving themselves to?
Then there is the other factor, they hate being ignored and if one does so, in some cases the narcissist can turn nasty by spreading rumours that are not true, all because their victim wasn't corresponding to them to feed their supply.
In truth honesty, you can't fully tame a narcissist after all they can't even tame their own insecurities.
What you can do instead, is pretty simple; as the key is to make them feel valued to feed their insecurities therefore, they respond to the following:
When you do this, they lower their guard and in their delusional mindset and that's when the slip ups re-surface, and 'Wa-la', that's your opening gate to highlight their incompetance.
Trying to tame a narcissist is simply a lost course, but when you implement tactics as I have just mention above, you simply don't waste your time, keep your focus as well as your sanity.
Next time you are faced with a narcissist try the above tactics and experience this simple strategy for yourself.
