9 blokes on bikes need your support! Binsted - Le Mans - 240kms in 24hrs

I am incredibly unfit, the last time I visited a gym was in 2004.  This was actually to get lunch, they had a café on site that sold awesome sandwiches!  I’m also known to enjoy a beer or two along with the odd cigarette (or 20) and the last time I rode a bike the penny-farthing was de rigueur!

My amazing son Fraser who is 5 years old and goes to Binsted school and my wife (Sam) decided it would be a perfectly sensible idea for me to cycle 240 kilometres in 24 hours from Binsted to Le Mans, France, to the 24 hour race and help raise money for the Binsted School Big Build!

Binsted school provides education for 4-11 year olds for the villages of Binsted, Kingsley, Oakhanger & surrounding villages.  It currently has 91 children being taught in only 3 classrooms. This has meant that there are 2 year groups in each classroom and recently years 4, 5 & 6 together.

To meet the current demands of the national curriculum and to continue to provide high quality education the school desperately needs to build an additional classroom and would like to do this in summer 2016.

The Goal: To help raise £113,000 (estimated total build cost).  Crucially we need to secure the bulk of the money before the end of February in order for the build to go ahead this summer!

To share this pain I’ve roped in another 8 dad’s from the school and a support crew consisting of a paramedic, a first-aider and the local vicar!  Some have described it as The Cannonball Run on bikes, others, a disaster waiting to happen!

The trip is completely self funded and all money raised goes directly to charity.  Please DONATE NOW (even if its just a fiver) and for more information go to www.lemontycyclists.co.uk  and follow us on twitter.  Please share and like this page.

Thanks for your support!

Good luck Jules! One person (or 7 blokes on bikes) can make a big difference! Great cause, well done.
