Is the International Criminal Court (ICC) an effective deterrent of international crimes? A new symposium issue that was just published in?the Journal of International Criminal Justice volume 19(4), edited by myself together with Jakob v. H. Holtermann and Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen attempts to answer this question.
?
The symposium checks the deterrent effect of the International Criminal Court from multiple perspectives and with a variety of methodologies. It is titled "Who is Afraid of the International Criminal Court?: Deterrence in International Criminal Justice".?

The editors are grateful for grate contributions by Frédéric Mégret, Natalie Hodgson, Hyeran Jo, Beth A Simmons, Mitchell Radtke, Marc Schack, Kevin Jon Heller, Alex Whiting. Each of us also wrote a paper and all three of us wrote a joint forward. Mark A Drumbl wrote an epilogue for the issue.
