Can I have it now please?
Because Pake and Beppe live there we have a house in the Frisian countryside. A quieter calmer place is hard to find in the Netherlands, but the hungry consumer of today's modern comforts can face challenges. Telcom providers don't see the point of connecting you to decent internet. And make sure you have a large freezer, because there is no impulse-buying a pizza with the nearest shops 10 miles away in Lemmer or Wolvega.
At the same time, the online order industry and the logistics & delivery industry in its slipstream are having a great time thanks to our remoteness. Since a few years vans and scooters come and go to deliver the new smartphone purse for my daughter or a few bird houses for my wife. The drivers even know where to leave the box when we are not at home.
If you want to read how the logistics industry is going to develop in response to technological developments, ever more spoiled customers, and regulatory challenges, just download our report on Shifting Patterns - The Future of the Logistics Industry.
