Can Heroes of Mavia (MAVIA) make money from Web3 Mobile Gaming?

Mr. Market thinks Web3 Mobile gaming can make money. CoinMarketCap named Heroes of Mavia (MAVIA) the fourth most trending cryptocurrency on 9 February 2024.

?

Heroes of Mavia is a massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) mobile game they built for Web3. The game itself is available for iOS (Apple) and Android devices. They claim users can build characters, battle enemies, and trade on their phones.

?

In Heroes of Mavia, users lead an army of superheroes and fantasy characters to defend their base from the bad guys. I think Heroes of Mavia?resembles MMOG popular shooter games such as Fortnite?and Overwatch.

?

They base numbers on a 250 million MAVIA Total Supply on a 30 million MAVIA Total Supply.

?

Skeptics will wonder if MAVIA is worth $5.75. MAVIA is a cryptocurrency that serves as the game’s governance token. Players use MAVIA to pay for weapons, characters, upgrades, and more. Participants can earn MAVIA rewards through tournaments and special events.

?

MAVIA will power a marketplace where users can buy nonfungible tokens (NFTs). The NFTs represent Skins, Decorations, and Consumables players use in the game. They hope to create a market that will inflate MAVIA’s value. Speculators hope demand for the NFTs will generate high MAVIA prices.

What is Web3?

I think Web3 is a meaningless term. However, McKinsey and Company describes Web3 as a “new, decentralized internet built on blockchains, which are distributed ledgers controlled communally by participants.”

?

Computer scientist Gavin Wood coined the term Web3. To elaborate, Web1 was the original 1990s internet users accessed through desktops and modems. If you are old enough to remember dial-up internet, you remember Web1. They built much of Web1 using open protocols anybody could access. Hence, Web1 had no security. The principal use of Web1 was to find and transmit information.

?

Web2arose in the mid-2000s when applications, such as WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, and YouTube, allowed users to create their own content. The principal uses of Web2 were person-to-person communication (social media) and passive entertainments (videos and articles).

?

To explain, in Web1 you read what somebody puts before you. In Web2, you watched what they put in front of you or put stuff out to attract eyeballs. Conversely, in Web3, you actively participate in ecosystems, games, or virtual worlds.

?

Web1 and Web2 were centralized. In Web1 and Web2, large organizations such as corporations and universities built digital platforms users logged onto. Conversely, decentralized nodes many users control comprise Web3. Thus, many people build and govern Web3 through infrastructure, such as DAOs.

?

The Mavia builders’ hope is to that tens of millions of people will access Web3 through their phones for activities, including gaming and ecommerce.

Is there a Market for Web3?

“In God we trust. All others must have?data.”

— Bernard?Fisher

?

Skeptics will wonder if there is a market for Web3? However, some analysts think there could be an enormous market for Web3.

?

For example, Invess estimates Web3 had a market capitalization of $27.5 billion in November 2023. However, the Web3 market is far smaller. The Web3 market could grow to $5.5 billion by 2030.

?

In contrast, the Web3 gaming industry could reach $65.7 billion in value by 2027, Invezz forecasts. Gaming accounted for 45% of Web3 blockchain activities in November 2023.

?

Angel investors believe in Web3. Invezz estimates 108 web3 starups raised $814 million in the first quarter of 2023.

?

North America generates 37% of Web3 market revenues, Grandview Research estimates. Moreover, around 35% of Web3 users live in North America, Invezz estimates.

?

Therefore, Mavia could serve a growing market. However, Mavia’s current value is purely theoretical because they do not publish any data on?Heroes of Mavia?use. Therefore, I recommend speculators avoid MAVIA until they publish that data.

It is indeed a good invest. It keeps good similarities with Axie but less indie. Im playing the game in one of the top Alliances and all seems very exciting!
