Yep, while LinkedIn is getting filled with AI-generated stuff, I will just keep sharing my thoughts on marketing & data protection to contribute some positive vibes to the market dynamics.
What is the Blue Ocean Strategy?
Let me elaborate on where I left off yesterday: Introducing Data Protection as part of your marketing campaign.
I will argue in this article that the GDPR is a great framework that indeed empowers blue ocean dynamics in a free market economy.
I have no doubts that this is also the reason why the data protection standard in the EU plays an increasingly vital role in the overall success of the continent.
It is all about discovering and conquering uncontested market spaces.
New markets lead to more choices to consumers, lower prices, higher living standards, jobs and creates a tone of other values.
Meet how the GDPR can help you to steer you towards YOUR blue ocean!
A little bit more on the Blue Ocean Philosophy & its context
Blue Ocean Strategy has not just been published in the Harvard Business Review but also sold millions of copies in book form all over the globe and last but not least also been recently introduced by Valuetainment .
In essence, there are four key elements to Blue Ocean Strategy to discover uncontested market spaces:

Understanding the framework around these 4 elements can help marketers boost their marketing efforts and campaigns in many dimensions.
But how can GDPR help you to create a Blue Ocean Strategy?
The answer lies in the Element number 3 and 4.
Firstly, Data Protection and Privacy in general, are factors that customers value and that the current industry is not focusing on at all. GenZ is THE privacy generation!
In my consultancy role I personally recommend tech companies to create an ad JUST highlighting stuff from their privacy statement, to really show off how privacy matters to them!
Secondly, do what Apple did. Apple created a secure day-to-day device with data protection and cybersecurity at the top of the list, allowing people to trust their smartphones in a way they have never experienced or trusted before.
The banking & tech industry can raise the bar on their data protection program to showcase to consumers how data breaches are kept to a minimum and that TRUST is built through respecting certain boundaries of privacy.
An example: I am happy to store all my kids' photos on iCloud because Apple has successfully campaigned in the last decades that privacy MATTERS!
This is really just one aspect of how GDPR can enhance and support your game while you utilize the Blue Ocean Strategy to discover new marketplaces.
