Can Egypt's ambition be achieved
In 2024, Egypt received nearly 300,000 Chinese tourists. Do they have the ability to attract 3 million Chinese tourists in 2028? I personally think this goal is difficult to achieve. The tourism market, which has grown tenfold in three years, is not only difficult to achieve, but also very dangerous for the growth of international tourism.
Rapid growth will result in an inability to maintain service quality, significant challenges to infrastructure, and a severe shortage of staff to serve the Chinese market. Even sales personnel familiar with Egypt in China will be insufficient, not to mention the supply of flights, hotels, tour guides, and other resources to serve the Chinese market. There is a high possibility of threatening the reputation of this destination, which will pose significant challenges for future growth.
However, it is inevitable that Egypt will experience rapid growth in the Chinese market in the coming years. Egypt has started to increase investment in infrastructure targeting the Chinese market. The Chinese market grew by 63% in 2024, which is a very good start.
