I know you also might have this question in your mind, especially if you are in digital marketing industry. This article attempts to answer your question.

Before we jump to the conclusion, let’s try to understand what ChatGPT is and what are the opportunities that it has bring for a digital marketer.

What is ChatGPT?

GPT stands for “Generative Pre-training Transformer”. It’s an AI based language model developed by Open AI. It has been trained on a massive amount of dataset of text data to generate human-readable text.

It is specifically designed to handle conversational language, and is capable of generating responses that are coherent, contextually appropriate, and consistent with the input it receives. It can be fine-tuned for a wide range of language-based tasks such as text generation, language translation, question answering, and text summarization.

For example, if you ask, "What is Digital marketing?" It gives you the following result.

Now you might have a clear understanding of GPT. Let’s dive dipper into the concept and understand how a digital market can get benefits by using it.

GPT and Digital marketing

GPT can assist a digital marketer in numerous of ways. Some of them are described below-

  1. Keywords generation: Using the appropriate keywords is one of the great practice to improve the SEO of your website. Many times, digital marketers find it difficult to gather appropriate and relevant keywords for their content. GPT can be used to generate appropriate keywords or phrases to put in your content to target your audience.
  2. Content Generation: As shown in the example above, I just searched “How can I improve the SEO of my website?” and it gave me a clear, good quality, coherent, and relevant content. It can produce quality content for your websites, blogs, or ads if it is provided with appropriate keywords and brief about the topic.
  3. Content Optimization: It can also be used to suggest alternative phrases or sentences that may be more SEO-friendly, such as by including targeted keywords or reducing the use of passive voice.
  4. Content brainstorming: At times when you are out of idea, GPT can be your great assistant to suggest new and creative topics to explore, based on your specific industry or target audience.
  5. Chatbot development: It can assist digital marketers in training and development chatbots to automatically generate responses to the queries and interact with the customers.
  6. Predictive modelling: It assists digital marketers to predict future market trends, customer behavior, and sales performance.

Are digital marketers’ jobs at risk?

Though there’s no universal answer to this question. But, in my considered thought, the answer is No!

You might ask me, how?

Here’s the answer.????

Though, the AI and GPT has been developed to a great extent and are able to perform several tasks, there are still some drawbacks which saves the jobs of digital marketers. The drawbacks are given below-

Since the Chat GPT collects information from the Internet, blogs, websites, and from very wide sources of information, the user is completely unaware about the sources from where he/she is getting the information. Also we know, everything is there on Internet is not authentic and accurate. Hence, even after getting content from GPT, digital marketers need to check the quality, quantity, authenticity, and relevance of the information gathered. They still need to be rephrased or reviewed before publishing.

On the other hand, you might find some people saying that AI is about to replace digital marketers but in my opinion, it has not developed so much that it can replace human brains. Yes, it is possible to perform various tasks such as Logo designing, video editing, predictive modelling, ad creation, etc. But there’s still a need of human minds to give appropriate direction and guidance to the AI. Hereby, I don’t deny to the fact that there would be some reduction in the demand for digital marketers but it will not fade away completely.

Thus, we can conclude that in near future, it’s not possible for Chat GPT and AI tools to replace digital marketers completely.
