Do you wonder if you can learn directly from CEOs and CXOs??
Or do you think CEOs and CXOs can be better teachers than academic professors??
I have divided this career insight into 3 sections to answer these pertinent questions for you.?
1. Why do we learn from academic researchers??
Let us begin by gaining some context first. If you go back in history, you will notice how education typically existed for the royals.?
The knowledge they gained was?not about apprenticeship,?but about philosophizing ideas to rule over the kingdom.?
Then came about scientific and arts revolution.?
Thus, the skills ecosystem saw a rise amongst those who had?extensively researched?the sciences and the arts.?
The downside was that perhaps these researchers were?unable to advance the careers?of their students.?
2.1 Skills
The?rising unemployment rate amongst youth is?a proof of the shortcomings of the current education system.?
While about?90% of the youth wish to work in the job market,?they do not have the necessary skills for it.?
Evidently, since CEOs are the actual practitioners of these skills, they would be better at imparting knowledge about them from both skills and jobs providing standpoint.
2.2 Future Skills 2030

So, what are the?skills?you need to gain employment??
Interestingly, BCG, World Economic Forum and LinkedIn worked together on a project aimed at predicting the skill requirements in the future.?
The report concludes that?Skills such as analytical thinking?and?problem-solving skills are?would become even more essential. This means that those who are in sync with the job market and aware of the upcoming trends would be better teachers than academic professors.?
2.3 Learning Outcomes
At the end of the day, your main objective for getting a degree is getting a good job.?
Now, it is not the academic professors that can help you with these jobs, but the CEOs. These CEOs would one day be?hiring for their own companies.?
Of course, researchers and academic professors provide a lot of value to the education system. Though, the need of the hour is up-skilling.
This is what the current system is falling short of.?
3. Can you learn directly from these CEOs?
The answer is of course-?yes!?
At Global Governance Initiative, we have hosted notable industry leaders like the Chairman of BCG Henderson, former chairman of BCG and President of Amazon Asia. These experienced specialists teach in a?Harvard Case Study Formatwhere you are engaged in a discussion. We want to solve the up-skilling problem of 2030. We wished to create a platform for the youth to learn proprietary skills from those best in their fields.?
