We have seen Cannabis a little bit everywhere in the media in the past year. We heard of it at Dr. Oz to the regular news to The New York Times and so on.
People are claiming all its wonderful benefits for the body and mind. Would it be too much to say it can help you be a more patient and positive parent?
Cannabis comes in a plethora of forms in 2019 and all of these derivatives have a different way to affect someone's health.
Also, everyone has a different level of tolerance and can experience diverse results.
Before entering the subject in more detail, anyone who has children and consumes Cannabis products should be very vigilant has to where they keep their "stash". Simply because most of those new derivative looks like candy or even cookies and have colorful packing which could be seducing for a child.
Marijuana
Marijuana is the type of Cannabis that contains over 35-45% of THC (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).
This molecule is powerful and has a mind-altering/ psychoactive side effect to it.
There are many ways to consume Marijuana but the most popular is to just smoke the flower either rolled up like a cigarette, in a pipe, a bong, or a vape pens.
Edibles seem to be gaining in popularity as well.
You can also find concentrate of Marijuana like oil, wax or hashish to have a faster/stronger "buzz".
A lot of parents who like to consume Marijuana like to compare it to a glass of wine. Frequent user will have a higher tolerance and will know their limit better, the same way a frequent alcohol drinker will.
A lot of parents report that they like to smoke once the kids are in bed to take the edge off and stop overthinking.
Others say they like to have a small amount and have a light buzz when they are with their kids.
Children have euphoric energy and silly vibe very often. Some parents even confessed it is more enjoyable to spend time with their children with that light buzz to have better synergy with them and be able to play along.
Further many parents who enjoy the occasional toke, prefer it to alcohol because it is easier to get back in control with this substance than alcohol and you don't get hangovers.
All in all, it is hard to say that Marijuana can make you a better parent although it certainly cannot make you a bad one if used in moderation. Just like any other psychoactive substances Marijuana should be used cautiously.
Hemp
Hemp is the type of Cannabis that contains only 0.3% of THC (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). This plant is generally used to make CBD (Cannabidiol) oil. Its very low concentration in THC won't be enough to get you high.
That is why it gains in popularity so fast after the legalization of hemp following the Farm Bill of 2018.
CBD can now be purchased in all kinds of form from gummies to oil to topical cream.
Its well-known anti-anxiety potential benefits van be a nice addition to a busy family lifestyle.
A lot of parents report that CBD helps them leave their work-related worries at the doors. Therefore, helping them being more enjoyable and present around their kids.
CBD can also increase sleep quality for certain people. Lack of sleep is a major issue in young parents' lives. Having access to this higher level of rest can also have a big impact on their patience and level of energy.
Lastly, CBD interferes with our Endocannabinoid system and can possibly manage inflammation and pain. Sitting at a desk or working physically all day can be very damaging to our bodies.
The pain it induces can make parents less patient and energic when comes times to help with mathematics homework or play a game of basketball in the driveway.
CBD has potential to help with that too.
In conclusion, Cannabis itself could be a good helper concerning parenting. By either using CBD derivative products or Marijuana. They both have their own advantages and their special way to interfere with our anatomy. It's a matter of preference.
