Public space is a crucial element to the urban environment, with multiple dimensions of cultural, social, political and economic components.
Yet do we enjoy or even take notice of the public spaces we inhabit? For many people in today's society public space is a place of only necessary activity, so can we change that?
This May meet up hopes to evoke discussion about what makes a good public space, the public spaces that you enjoy and how we can improve our own cities public spaces though street art, art installations and the business improvement district. As inspiration a series of TED talks will be presented looking at what makes public space and some fascinating public art projects across the globe.
Join us on Wednesday 9 May 2018, 18.00-20.00, at Good Space, Floor 2, Commercial Union House, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QE.
